If you want to create an app specific password to sign-in to your Yahoo account via IMAP or POP when two-step verification is enabled; you need to follow the below-stated steps:

  1. Go to the top section of the Yahoo navigation bar and place your cursor over your name.
  2. Now select Account Info tab from the appeared sheet.
  3. You have to select the Account Security.
  4. Under the Account Security section, choose Manage app passwords or Generate app password tab.
  5. Now you have to select the software for which you want to generate app specific password. If your software is not listed below, select the Other App from the list. Then you need to insert the name and platform of the program in the Enter Custom name field.
  6. Select Generate
  7. You need to copy and insert the application password under the App Password as you cannot see the password again.
  8. Click Done to close the settings.

Steps to Delete the third party app passwords in Yahoo:

If you have stopped using certain application then you should revoke the password to secure your account. To delete the third party app password in Yahoo, you need to:

  1. Select your name located near the top right corner.
  2. Now click Account Info
  3. Select the Account Security section.
  4. Now Select Manage app password from the list.
  5. Now you have to select the trash icon just beside the app password you want to delete.
  6. Your third party app password will be deleted.
