Focus On Marketing

Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs – June 24, 2017

350 S Northlake Blvd, Orlando, FL 32701

Come join the Florida Writers Association (FWA) for the third focus day of the year. There will be a day full of workshops all related to Marketing beginning at 8:30 a.m.

For some authors, marketing is a beast that is difficult to tackle. For others, it’s a demon they want nothing to do with, but with so many authors self-publishing, it’s become a major part of the writing process. Four members of faculty will cover the marketing basics and how to incorporate it into the writing process. After a continental breakfast and opening remarks, Robbie Cox will take attendees through print marketing and its importance. Following a brief break, Jade Kerrio will cover social media and how best to utilize the various platforms. There will be an hour long interlude for lunch and networking.

The next to last workshop will be presented by Melanie Tingle Marsh, who will discuss bloggers, their role and how to contact them. Jennifer Wedmore will finish the workshops by talking about hiring and using personal assistants. The day will conclude with a panel discussion and closing remarks. And don’t forget about the door prizes!

Attendees don’t have to take all four workshops. The time can be used to add one-on-one interviews with any one of the presenters. (Note: Cost for a 15 minute interview is $25 plus registration for the full focus day is required.) Last year, an attendees said, “I’ve discovered these workshops as paramount to my career as a writer. Because of the things I’ve learned, I’ve been able to create a marketing strategy that works for my platform.”
