7 Signs of Stress – Premier Med Group
The 7 Signs of Stress are as follows:
- Digestive Issues
- Neck or Back Pain
Fatigue is a feeling of tiredness that can usually be relieved with rest. When we become stressed our body’s ability to regulate sleep and alertness during the day can become compromised. Excessive fatigue can be a sign of adrenal fatigue, which can be helped by restoring function and giving appropriate supplementation.
Headaches trouble a lot of people, and many times they become so frequent that people believe that having a headache is “normal.” It’s important to remember that though it may be common, it is neither normal nor healthy and must be checked out. A headache is a warning sign. Headaches can be caused by many things: stress, tension, digestive dysfunction, allergies, toxins in the system, dehydration among others factors such as nerve pressure, and spinal posture.
Allergies and sinus issues are very common! Whether it is from common household pets or the trees in your yard, many things can be an irritation. Allergies are just a hypersensitivity, whether its due to excess stress keeping the body and immune system on high alert or to irritability of a nerve. Either way, regulating and calming the nervous system helps to alleviate symptoms and decrease overall allergies.
Digestive issues can be a real burden to your day, your eating habits and may have lasting affects on your mood and energy level. If you have excess gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, ulcers or hemorrhoids the culprit may very well be stress. These are just a few of the signs that your body is “malfunctioning” and whether it be from physical, chemical or emotional stress you DO NOT want these to go unchecked.
Sleep is very important! Our body releases potent hormones including growth hormone when we sleep. This is when the body balances and repairs itself. The health of the body and brain rely on this process, therefore when we see disrupted sleep on a regular basis we know intervention is important. Broken sleep cycles and the inability to fall asleep is directly caused by unchecked stress levels.
Irritability and depression affects millions of people world wide, and the one thing they all have in common is irregular hormone or neurotransmitter levels. Stress causes excess and deficiency of both of these potent classes of mood related chemicals. The best way to treat irritability, anxiety and depression is to identify the root cause and be sure that the nervous system is working properly.
Pain commonly rears its ugly head well after stress has affected our physical tissue such as our necks and backs. The majority of a nerves primary role is function, only around 10% is sensation. That is why it can be one of the last symptoms to arrive. If you have been suffering from pain, or have had any of the other symptoms of stress do not want to wait any longer for a full screening from one of our clinicians.
