Evidence Vault Launches ‘Operation Dragnet’ to ID Serial Predators
New App Will Help Victims Find Justice
Cambridge, MA (September 1, 2016) – Evidence Vault (www.evidencevault.org) is launching “Operation Dragnet” to encourage victims of violent crimes to anonymously report their attackers through a revolutionary new mobile app designed to identify serial predators.

This year, over 3 million Americans will be the victim of a violent crime. In the first 12 weeks of the fall semester, a time referred to as the “Red Zone,” over 300,000 college students will be sexually assaulted, most of them freshmen. The Evidence Vault team is committed to reducing these numbers.

The Evidence Vault app securely captures critical data about violent crimes. In minutes, survivors can enter information about their assailants via the free, user-friendly app. Evidence Vault continually scans cases in its secure database to identify patterns and matching offender data. As more survivors come forward, the likelihood of a match increases.

When a match is made between two or more cases, Evidence Vault contacts local police and connects them with the survivors, who can remain anonymous. When the police are ready to move forward with charges against the perpetrator, survivors can choose to come forward and testify, knowing the case is backed up by greater evidence and the testimony of other victims.

And when a pattern of behavior can be proven by hard evidence across multiple cases, police get cases they can win, perpetrators can be made to pay for their crimes and survivors can find justice.

“Evidence Vault is a true game-changer,” said CJ Scarlet, CEO and survivor of rape as a college freshman. “We are working to shift the power dynamic between victims and predators, giving victims power over their experience and offering them the opportunity speak up to protect other potential victims.”

The app is available now for free download on Google Play for Android and the App Store for Apple products. For more information, visit www.EvidenceVault.org.
