Proposals for Impact Assessment for Water and Dairy Sectors

Kenya Markets Trust (KMT) is a not for profit organization whose mission is to focus on transforming the functioning of markets, and in doing so to make markets work better for the poor. Water and Dairy sectors are two of the main KMT’s “portfolio”. KMT is funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID); the Gatsby Charitable Foundation (GCF). KMT is mandated to improve the performance of selected market systems in order to boost overall competitiveness whilst strengthening the performance and position of poor people participating in markets whether as producers, employees or consumers. Presently, KMT is carrying out interventions in the Extensive Livestock, Dairy, Aquaculture, Agricultural Inputs & Supplies, Seeds and Water markets.

KMT invites proposals from reputable firms/consultants with relevant expertise, experience and capacity to conduct midline evaluation/surveys in the Dairy and Water sector markets. Interested firms/consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified and capable of delivering. This should include a description of similar assignments, experience in the sectors (or related), ability to conduct multi-sector evaluations, capacity to deliver, detail of the methodology to be used for each sector as directed in the detailed RFP on the KMT Website, etc.

Firms/consultants may work together to enhance their qualifications. The target is to have the assessment work completed by July 2016. Click www.kenyamarkets.org to download the detailed RFP.

Subject to the performance during the assessment period, the contractor(s) will then be re-engaged to conduct other evaluation including end-term evaluations (by July 2017) to determine the Program impact against the original baselines.
